Software Development Manager (SDM) – TI290126
Location: Remote, Canada | Pay Rate: $85/hr INC


Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to join the BTV PMO team. This role will lead the migration of 300 customers from a legacy BTV platform to a new platform within a 12-month timeline. The SDM will manage software development projects end-to-end, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. The role involves leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and client/stakeholder engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of software development projects across the full lifecycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, close)
  • Represent the software development team to external teams, stakeholders, and customers
  • Develop a vision for the team and work towards achieving it, inspiring team members to meet goals
  • Communicate effectively with team members, external parties, and clients
  • Handle conflicting priorities, issues, risks, dependencies, and change control
  • Map project processes, identify and resolve process gaps, and ensure deliverables adhere to quality standards
  • Manage project financials, scope, objectives, and resources
  • Follow up with team members and external parties to ensure commitments are met
  • Encourage a positive work environment where team members can thrive without feeling pushed
  • Manage client relations and expectations, ensuring customer satisfaction

Required Skills & Experience

  • 1+ years’ experience as a Software Development Manager
  • Proven IT Project Management experience
  • 4+ years experience planning and leading projects across all phases
  • 5+ years experience leading IT projects (Infrastructure, Transformation, Application Development)
  • Microservices experience (GCP, AWS or Azure; AWS preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Google Spreadsheets for data analysis, presentations, and reporting
  • Demonstrated analytical, consulting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience producing and maintaining project documentation and processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent

Nice to Have

  • Professional certifications such as PMP or CSM
  • Experience driving continuous improvement and strategic, cross-functional programs
  • Working knowledge of Fibre Optic TV services and legacy TV systems
  • Previous experience managing Telecommunications projects

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $85/hr INC
