Hours: 7.25 hours/day (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, excluding lunch)
The Data Architect / Modeller is responsible for designing, documenting, and governing the organization’s end-to-end data architecture. This role focuses on data modeling, data integration, governance, data quality, and analytics enablement, ensuring data is structured, secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
Create a high-level view of the organization’s full data landscape
Define how data flows across systems, platforms, and applications
Design integration diagrams showing interactions between data systems
Develop architecture artefacts aligned with enterprise standards
Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models
Define entities, attributes, relationships, keys, and constraints
Design relational, star, and snowflake schemas
Design schemas for data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse platforms
Define indexing, partitioning, and performance optimization strategies
Define and document data standards, naming conventions, and policies
Establish data quality rules and governance frameworks
Define roles and responsibilities for data stewardship
Create and maintain business glossaries and metadata documentation
Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements
Design ETL processes and data pipelines
Plan and execute data migration strategies from legacy systems
Support BI tools, dashboards, and analytical platforms
Monitor and report on data quality, integrity, and performance
Develop strategies to improve data accuracy and usability
Design data security and access control models
Ensure secure handling of sensitive and regulated data
Troubleshoot production data issues and performance bottlenecks
Continuously improve scalability and efficiency of data systems
Strong experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models
Experience with relational, star, snowflake, and lakehouse schemas
Proficiency with data modeling tools such as ERWIN, Visio, Power Designer
Experience with master data management and common data models
Strong understanding of metadata management and data governance
Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms
Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks
Experience designing data lake and lakehouse architectures
Experience implementing Medallion architecture or similar frameworks
Strong background in data integration and scalable data design
Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies
Strong SQL and query optimization skills
Experience with production support, tuning, and performance optimization
Understanding of information management principles and best practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with cross-functional teams (business, IT, data engineering)
Strong documentation and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to model complex data relationships
Awareness of emerging data and analytics trends
