ob Description: The Senior Risk Manager, Client Experience & Technology Office (CXT) is a supporting hero for the 1LOD CXT Risk team, connecting cross-functionally to bring data, insights, and collaboration into the risk assessment work we do. This role is pivotal in ensuring that risks are identified, understood, and managed effectively across all areas of the business.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Risk Manager to join our team, for a one year contact term. The primary responsibility will be to conduct comprehensive risk assessments on large-scale initiatives, including new projects, technology implementations, process changes, and business expansions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying potential risks, evaluating their impact, and developing effective mitigation strategies.
This role collaborates closely with project teams, executives, and enterprise risk management partners to ensure risks are consistently assessed, controlled, and communicated throughout the project lifecycle.


Accountabilities
This role will be responsible for:
Conduct detailed risk assessments on large-scale initiatives, including projects, system implementations, process changes, and expansions
Mature and continuously improve the New Initiative Risk Assessment (NIRAP) process
Identify, quantify, and evaluate risks, providing clear recommendations to project stakeholders and senior leaders
Understand solution designs to identify gaps, dependencies, or risks within proposed initiatives
Evaluate risk embedded within end to end processes and provide insight to strengthen controls and reduce vulnerabilities
Develop and present risk mitigation strategies and validate internal controls for effectiveness and adherence to methodology
Develop of tool to map controls to E2E processes to mitigate key risk exposures
Monitor and report on risks and key risk indicators (KRIs) across the project lifecycle
Deliver executive-ready risk reports and dashboards with actionable insights
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Internal Audit, and Compliance to ensure alignment with enterprise risk frameworks and regulatory standards
Provide and present data, insights, and input to the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function to support holistic risk oversight
Promote a strong risk culture by embedding proactive risk identification and mitigation in business operations
Mentor and support team members to build organizational risk capability
Provide thought leadership on emerging risks, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices
Top Skills: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree/MBA an asset)
Professional designations such as FRM, CRM, CRISC, CPA, or CFA preferred
8+ years of progressive experience in risk management, including work with operational, technology, or enterprise risk frameworks
Strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Proven ability to conduct complex risk assessments and present findings to executives
Skilled at assessing control effectiveness and validating methodology in risk programs
Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across multiple lines of defense
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to simplify complex risks for varied audiences
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Analytical mind with the ability to break complex problems into manageable bodies of work
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with ability to independently solve problems
Professional Risk Manager (PRM) or related certification is an asset
