About the Role
As a Plumber with my client, you will be responsible for general preventive maintenance, repair, testing, installation, and troubleshooting of plumbing, mechanical, and distribution systems throughout a facility. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, providing critical support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems to ensure smooth facility operations.
What You’ll Do
Repair, install, replace, test, and troubleshoot water and medical gas supply/distribution systems.
Install new water systems, piping, and fixtures according to blueprints, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
Ensure waste and vent lines are in proper working condition using tools such as plumber’s snake, vacuum plunger, or jet washer.
Support staff or contractors on projects or equipment installations.
Perform both minor and major repairs on faucets, toilets, flush valves, pressure relief/reducing valves, and other fixtures.
Operate threading machines; remove, replace, and repair all sizes and types of piping (cast, plastic, stainless, black iron, copper, glass, Victaulic).
Work on heating, cooling, domestic cold water, pumps, heat exchangers, humidifiers, boilers, and urinals.
Troubleshoot, rebuild, or replace pumps (submersible, sump, centrifugal, piston).
Perform soldering, brazing, and open-flame welding (up to 4” pipe).
Use material management systems to minimize waste and maintain proper inventory.
Estimate jobs, prepare material lists, and support invoicing/billing processes.
Conduct plumbing safety inspections and backflow device testing.
Train staff members to perform light plumbing maintenance and repairs.
Carry out general maintenance and building operational duties as assigned.
Respond to emergency situations and coordinate additional support when required.
Adhere to all HSE policies, programs, and procedures, including safety inspections, incident investigations, and compliance reporting.
What You’ll Need
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of job-related experience. Equivalent education/experience combinations considered.
Plumbing certification at the Journeyman level required. Medical Gas and Backflow certifications preferred.
Valid Driver’s License required. Supervisory or shift manager experience preferred.
Ability to meet physical demands (stooping, standing, walking, climbing, lifting/carrying 50 lbs.+).
Strong judgment and analytical skills, with the ability to assess multiple information sources.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive, solutions-oriented mindset.
