Senior Director – Business Unit Leader

About the Role
The Senior Director – Business Unit Leader will oversee a full business unit within the firm, with a particular focus on valuations. This leadership role combines strategic oversight, client engagement, business development, and team management. You will shape practice strategy, expand market presence, and directly influence client outcomes while working alongside a high-performing team of senior professionals.
Leadership & Operations
- Set and execute the business unit’s strategic direction in alignment with firm-wide goals
- Lead, grow, and manage all aspects of the business unit, including full P&L responsibility
- Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, industry partners, and prospective clients to expand the unit’s reach
- Represent the firm at industry events, contribute to publications, and position the firm as a leader in valuations and advisory
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier professionals within the team
Client Advisory & Business Development
- Act as the senior point of contact for high-profile clients, delivering exceptional advisory services in valuations and related areas
- Oversee client delivery and ensure the highest standards of professional service
- Develop and expand service offerings to meet client needs and market opportunities
Training & Professional Development
- Mentor team members and foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and professional growth
- Promote continuous learning and development within the business unit
What You’ll Need
- 10+ years of progressive experience in valuations, corporate finance, or related financial advisory services
- Proven business unit or practice leadership experience, ideally in a mid-market or entrepreneurial professional services environment
- Strong business development track record with the ability to attract and retain clients
- Professional designation such as LIT, CBV, CPA, CFA, or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at executive and board levels
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously and drive results without bureaucracy
Compensation
The salary for this position is $200,000 – $300,000 per year. Additional compensation includes performance incentives and full company benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
