Corporate Estate Administrator – Restructuring and Recovery
Toronto, Ontario, Canada | Full-Time, Permanent | Hybrid
Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 per year + Full Benefits
About the Role
The Corporate Estate Administrator will support the restructuring and recovery practice by managing corporate insolvency files and performing administrative and compliance tasks critical to the success of client engagements. This role involves close collaboration with professionals and stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate documentation, regulatory filings, and reporting while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
Leadership & Operations
- Administer corporate insolvency files, including data entry of creditor, debtor, asset, and liability information
- File statutory documents with the Official Receiver and/or Court, manage regulatory deadlines, prepare affidavits, and coordinate legal notices and advertisements
- Correspond with stakeholders and triage inquiries as appropriate
- Review and track creditor claims, prepare stakeholder reports and engagement summaries
- Assist with claims under the Wage Earner Protection Program and prepare corporate HST returns
- Manage accounts payable and disbursements, including cheque preparation and supporting documentation
- Maintain and update firm-managed web pages related to active insolvency files
- Assist with billing processes, including time entry, invoice generation, and tax filings for court approval
- Perform PPSA and corporate registry searches
Client Advisory & Administrative Support
- Support scheduling of professional staff across engagement files
- Coordinate logistics such as appointments, travel, and internal meetings
- Liaise with vendors and manage engagement-related service contracts
- Prepare and maintain online data rooms for use during formal proceedings
- Provide general administrative support to restructuring professionals as needed
Training & Professional Development
- Enrollment in, or willingness to enroll in, the Insolvency Administration Course offered by CAIR or IAA designation
- Support ongoing learning and development within the restructuring and recovery practice
What You’ll Need
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an insolvency administration role within a professional services environment
- Experience using insolvency software “Ascend”
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to handle sensitive data and confidential materials professionally
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team setting
Compensation
The salary for this position is $70,000 – $100,000 per year. Additional compensation includes full company benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
