Senior Business Analyst - Data Enablement - 401
Toronto, ONBusiness Analyst -Data Enablement Team
As a Business Analyst within our IT Data Enablement team, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between technical aspects of data and business data needs.
Responsibilities:
1.Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
oCollaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives, data requirements, and pain points.
oTranslate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for the data infrastructure.
oCreate detailed user stories based on business requirements.
2.Documentation:
oDocument business requirements, use cases, and functional specifications
oDocument data flows, transformations, and dependencies within the Snowflake data warehouse and Matillion ETL processes.
oMaintain metadata documentation for table, columns and relationships.
oMaintain documentation on data sources and transformations.
3.Testing & Impact Analysis:
oValidate data quality by creating test cases and performing data validation checks.
oEnsure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness throughout the data pipeline.
oPerform impact analysis when changes are being made to the data infrastructure.
4.Process Improvement and BPMN Mapping:
oAssess options for process improvement, including business process modeling.
oUse BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) to map out existing and proposed business processes.
5.ETL Process Optimization:
oCollaborate with ETL developers to optimize Matillion workflows and transformations.
oIdentify bottlenecks, monitor performance, and suggest improvements.
6.Stakeholder Communication:
oAct as a liaison between technical teams, business users, and senior management.
oPresent project updates, status reports, and performance metrics to stakeholders.

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ BA experience within the Data space
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python).
- Familiarity with Snowflake, AWS, and Matillion.
- Familiarity with PowerBI
- Experience working with Signavio or other BPMN tool
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- CBAP or PMP a plus
- Familiarity with working in an agile development environment.
- Experience using Jira for project management and Confluence for documentation.
