NOTE: 80% in the field; 20% office/home – this will vary depending on work situations.
Key Responsibilities/Job Functions:
• Provide network support and troubleshooting directly for clients, both onsite and phone support .
• Physical and remote installation, maintenance and support of a wide variety of internet-related technologies, including DSL, CMTS, multipoint wireless and point-to-point wireless. .
• Onsite and Remote support for VOIP Telephone systems
Job Qualifications:
• Must possess own vehicle as well as a valid driver's license and insurance (mileage will be provided) .
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills. .
• At least two years working in an ISP or similar environment .
• Competent knowledge of network and internet-related technology and protocols such as TCP/IP, e-mail, DNS, FTP, routing, etc. .
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills .
• Willing to work shifts and be available for rotating off-hour on call duties .
• Knowledge of Microsoft Servers an asset . Knowledge of Unix and Linux operating system is an asset .
• Experience working with Cisco and Netopia routers, Sonicwalls an asset .
• Experience working with NBX/PBX systems an asset .
• Network+ certification or equivalent an asset .
• Previous experience providing technical support over the telephone is an asset.
