Job Description:
NOTE: 3 days in office, 2 days remote

The position will be responsible for CATV-Fibre/design/mapping and coordination of projects as directed by the Outside Plant Engineering Manager. Understanding that the “Customer Comes First”. It will be the successful applicant’s responsibility to ensure that Roger’s customers will be installed within demanding deadlines. This will be accomplished by:

•Communication with internal or external customer to determine scope of project.
•Preliminary field survey to determine Scope of Work required. (Coax cable and/or fiber optic cable route planning & Survey of routes for feasibility of construction)
•Project costing.
•Preparation of Project Approval forms (CA/PIF/BOM).
•Issuing of “permit drawings” to Eng House contractors.
•Issuing RF design to either Eng Houses or in-house Designers.
•Detailed review of RF Designs / Powering, Permits, Splicing Assignments for conformance to Rogers specifications and viability of construction
•Tracking of Markups and Permits from Submission to Approval.
•Prepare & Package all Drawings, Permits and Documentation to issue package to NI.
•Final review and Field Inspection of Package prior to issuing to NI.
•Ensure all as-built drawings are completed.
•Ensure RPATS Milestones are updated, including Contracted labor and notes.
•Work co-operatively with Planners, and local Permit Co-coordinators to maintain confidence and integrity in network records, drawings and maps.
•Review asbuilts for completeness once received.
•Learn and adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations, in accordance with legislation and related Company policies.

Qualifications:
•Post-secondary diploma in one of the following is preferred: Electronics Technology, Data Communications or Civil Technology.
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in all aspects of CATV-Fibre or telecommunications planning and design processes and procedures.
•Knowledge of CSA standards, MCR and utility standards, ESA 2204
•Knowledge of RF and fibre optic architecture and the fibre optic planning processes.
•Demonstrated skills in AutoCAD, SpatialNet, RPATS and software based spreadsheets and databases would be an asset.
•Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Project).
•Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
