Reporting to the Vice President, the General Manager, Ontario South is responsible for the growth and execution of distribution and short transmission line work in the Ontario. This position will focus on Ontario’s safety performance, business strategy, customer management, operational excellence and P&L performance
KEY (CORE) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety Accountabilities
Responsible for ensuring compliance and adherence to safety requirements and work procedures
Responsible to ensure compliance to all federal, provincial and client requirements
Responsible to ensure all incidents are investigated, root causes determined and implementation of identified improvements and corrections
Responsible to develop a “safety first” culture within the Ontario team
Model and demonstrate safety culture with personal behaviors and actions
IN cooperation with the Northern ON General Manager, develop annual plan to improve safety performance
Operational Accountabilities
Accountable to deliver operations and project profits

In depth understanding of utility and electrical activities in the Ontario region

Responsible to ensure development of project estimates
Review all estimates to ensure resources are assigned according to operation requirements.
Responsible to ensure all site and contractual risks are understood

Ensure all team members are treated with respect and dignity as per code of conduct
Mentor other team members and identify key performers
Ensure development plans are in plan for personnel and crews
Ensuring compliance with union/non union, collective agreements/dispute resolutions
Develop relationship with key leaders and Union leaders
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least one of: Licensed Power Lineman or Construction Electrician, Technologist, Professional Engineer or related Construction Degree
Experience in Electrical Utility Trade (electrical and civil components)
At least 15 years experience in the electrical/civil industry
