Construction Manager, Ontario - V1411

Reporting to the General Manager the Construction Manager, Ontario is responsible for the execution of distribution and civil work in Southern Ontario. This position will be responsible for operational safety performance and compliance with company and legislative requirements, customer management and operational excellence. This position will be directly responsible for the Ontario South division

KEY (CORE) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Safety Accountabilities
    • Responsible for ensuring compliance and adherence to safety requirements and work procedures
    • Responsible for compliance to all relevant provincial, federal and client safety requirements
    • Responsible to ensure all incidents are investigated, root causes determined and implementation of identified improvements and corrections
    • Responsible to develop a “safety first” culture within the Ontario team
    • Model and demonstrate safety culture with personal behaviors and actions
 
  • Operations Accountabilities
    • Understand and adhere to project budgets.
    • Accountable to monitor and deliver project profits and schedules.
    • Accountable to understand and manage contracts and projects
    • Accountable to understand and manage reputational risks
    • Accountable to manage fleet requirements and associated utilizations
    • Manage schedules and assign resources
    • Review and support work plans
 
  • Bid Management Accountabilities
  • Support of project estimates to verify resources and durations
  • Responsible to ensure all site and contractual risks are understood
 
  • Team Management
  • Implement and verify compliance to HR procedures for field operations
  • Mentor other team members and identify key team members
  • Ensuring compliance with union/non union, collective agreements/dispute resolutions
  • Develop relationship with key leaders and Union leaders

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have at least one of: Licensed Power Lineman or Construction Electrician, Technologist
  • Experience in Electrical Utility Trade (electrical and civil components)
  • At least 15 years experience in the electrical
