2691 - Network Analyst

Job Description: Summary
The Network Analyst will execute software upgrades and general provisioning changes on Shaw's core network.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
• Validate firmware releases for customer use
• Execute pre-defined changes/updates on the network for ongoing projects
• Build network plans for equipment code upgrades and ongoing projects with a rollback plan, impact analysis, and business risks
• Maintain documentation to ensure changing requirements and technologies are captured and communicated.
• Develop test plans to perform testing and creation of specialized proof of concept for code upgrades (Cisco IOSXR, NXOS)
• Define project timeline and provide updates on the status of code upgrades in the network
• Complete necessary pre/post-verifications as well as service verifications during code upgrades and other change work

- Cisco CCNA (required)
- Cisco CCNP/DEVNET certs (preferable)

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in a computer related discipline (in a networking background) and/or 1-3 years of Network Analyst experience. A combination of education and network experience may be considered
• Strong knowledge of internet protocol, internet services including (but not limited to) routing, switching, OSPF, ISIS, BGP
• Ability to adapt and grow with new technologies
• Exceptional problem solving, organizational and time management skills with an attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Goal oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
• Team player with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Ability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, and nights
• The ability to handle challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
