Network Analyst, Senior

Reports to: Senior Manager, Datacenter Services
 
Purpose of the Role This position is responsible for the support, troubleshooting, monitoring and maintenance of a 7X24 Network environment. The Senior Network Analyst’s responsibilties include developing and maintaining standards for the network hardware and related components topology. Provides guidance to team members ensuring cost-effective and efficient LAN and WAN that meet all facets of company business and client needs.
 
Core Accountabilities
  • Ensure the stability, integrity and security of the data and wireless network services
  • Participate in the capital and operational budget planning process
  • Participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal network downtime
  • Diagnose, resolve, and document level 3 network problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide training and support to other team members or stakeholders where required
  • Initiate equipment and traffic studies and present recommendations including cost/benefit analysis for management approval
  • Provide operation analysis and develop detailed specifications for equipment procurement, cabling requirements and systems maintenance
  • Act a primary liaison between equipment/maintenance vendors and IT for issues related to networks
  • Ensure that expenditures stays within established budgets
 
Minimum Qualification and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent
  • Minimum seven (7) years of related work experience
  • Expert knowledge of and experience in LAN and WAN technology, engineering, and design
  • Solid understanding of security engineering, firewalls at perimeter and the core, IPS/IDS technologies
  • Understanding of network traffic at all layers of the OSI model
  • Ability to read and interpret packet captures
  • Experience with load balancers, TLS configuration
  • Understanding of Azure networking
  • Automation experience is an asset
  • Cisco/Palo Alto/F5/Azure or similar industry certifications
  • Strong documentation and diagramming skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as good conceptual and organizational skills with the ability to understand end-user needs
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make independent judgments
  • High level of teamwork skills and ability to share ideas and solutions to work challenges
  • Effective project planning and management skills
