Team Lead

Brampton, Ontario
The Team Leader will be responsible for the effective operation of Data Warehouse Management services and the Data Science projects. This individual oversees the project management, resource management, and supervision of the team while using Agile methodologies. The Team Lead will also be responsible for facilitating the daily meetings as well as communication with the client.

Job duties
  • Oversee project management for current projects, including clear capture of business requirements, provision of functional deliverables, and sprint planning.
  • Coordinate sprints and manage sprint backlog.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups and retrospective meetings.
  • Be the point of contact for the Product Owners to support short and long-term release planning, and to keep work backlog prepared for execution.
  • Use Agile methodology for tracking project progress and reporting to stakeholders via a formal communications plan.
  • Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration within a skilled team of IT professionals.
  • Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint.
  • Ensure overall stability, availability, functionality, and reliability of applications.
  • Help guide the team’s professional development.
  • Act as advocate for Dogico and its initiatives.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Management and Architecture, Quantitative Analysis, Information Technology or STEM related field
  • Minimum 7 years of direct work experience in IT and 2 years of experience in project management required.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodology
  • People-focused and service-oriented IT leader with experience in strategic planning and project management
  • Good overall knowledge of programming concepts, software development cycles, and associated tools and platforms.
  • Highly effective project management, leadership, and communication skills.
  • French speaking and writing are required for this role
  • Experience with consulting is a plus

Working conditions
  • Travel is required – 1 to 2 days every 2 - 3 weeks
