Principal Software Architect

The Principal Software Architect (PSA) is a senior level professional with extensive and successful experience in software design and product development. As a member of the Software Engineering Team, the PSA acts as the central point and subject matter expert for the designing of all levels of the protocols stacks of the products in addition to working closely with the Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Hardware Engineering groups.
The successful applicant’s chief responsibility will be architecting end-to-end software solutions based on customer specifications and business needs.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Coordinating with product management team in defining project scope and approaches and assisting Product Managers in analyzing project requirements
  • Proposing and most effective architectural solutions to meet cost, quality and schedule requirements
  • Providing architectural blueprints by modelling and designing Wireless Access Products
  • Coordinating with broader software engineering team in ensuring the successful accomplishment of the end-to-end development cycle, prototyping and simulation of software solutions for the validation of application functionalities
  • Participating in design, code and test plan reviews as needed and provide appropriate recommendations
  • Evaluating and recommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest quality product
  • Analyzing software issues and recommend workaround solutions
  • Developing best practices to ensure software functionality, usability, reliability and availability
  • Responding to client queries and concerns professionally and build positive customer relationship
  • Attending industrial conferences, meetings, presentations to represent the company
  • Assist in development of white papers, design, training and software architectural documents
  • Providing support in developing new product lines and upgrading existing ones
Requirements :
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on Computer Science, specifically in Software Engineering with a broad knowledge in the field of Electronics and telecommunications (Preferably a Master Degree).
  • Minimum 5-10+ years of successful and strong experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 5-10+ years of hands-on work and expertise in system/software architecture and design of large real-time embedded systems
  • Subject matter expertise in modern C/C++, Golang, and Python
  • Hands-on and strong expertise in the whole software stack from top level GUI all the way down to device drivers.
  • Excellence in documenting system and software designs using SysML/UML

Desired Domain Knowledge
  • U-Boot
  • VxWorks and embedded Linux
  • L2/L3 networking, IPv4/IPv6, TSN, IEEE 1588 and link aggregation standards/techniques
  • Digital hardware (e.g., I2C/SPI/USB/PCIe)
  • Broadband Wireless Communications systems RAN and Core
  • Cryptography with emphasis on PKI and ECC
