ROLE: Wireline Data Analytics Specialist
Rogers is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist to support various initiatives related to the Wireline Network. Reporting to the ‘Manager – Fibre Planning at the Rogers Brampton Campus, this role provides advanced technical support, data analytics and advanced reporting of the Wireline network. •Data analysis of network inventory tools, observing and reporting of data discrepancies.
•Create/Innovate automated reporting that supports Planning and Construction processes.
•Develop and support network tools to support Engineering and planning processes.
•Liaise with individual Network and other business groups to provide support of developed processes and platforms.
•Provide technical support for existing engineering network inventory platforms which include, SpatialNet, NRM (Network Resource Manager), and Address Inventory Tools.
•Develop operational processes and procedures for Wireline Access Networks and others to follow on these service platforms related to Wireline Networks.
•Participate in the internal customer requirements gathering with the objective of designing solutions that best meet internal customer needs.

-Has some implementation experience
-Works on multiple small sized projects with assigned tasks
-Provides technical assistance
-Has functional knowledge of applications specific to own area
-Participates in preparation of technical and functional documentation
-Deliverables and schedules are generally set by others
-Participates in technical design, development and implementation of application systems.
-Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and revise programs.
-Documents installation and operating procedures.
-Codes new programs of low to moderate complexity, working with basic applications systems designs and specifications and utilizing standard procedures and techniques.
-Interfaces with system designers to design, code, test and implement application programs.
-Prepares release notes and other relevant documentation of procedures used in more complex applications.
-Works with the application support team to assure a seamless transition to production of more complex applications.
-Further develops and exhibits competency in technical skills, tools, and techniques.
-Builds understanding of business and IT strategies that impact supported organizations.
-Extends awareness of risks associated with application development and of potential impacts within IT, the business, and or the firm's reputation.
-Incorporates risk planning and mitigation into work efforts.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
•4+ years good working knowledge of programming and SQL.
•Expert knowledge of enterprise databases such as SQL Server.
•Oracle, Informatica/Powercentre, ETL, SQL.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
•Knowledge of HFC and Fibre optic networks an asset
•Experience with Network tools such as SpatialNet is an asset
•Working knowledge of Power BI or Tableau is an asset
