Telecom Contracts Manager-XP10

The Contracts Manager is accountable for the development and implementation of contractor resource strategies in support of all Networks capital programs. This role partner’s closely with the Legal team, Network Program, Network Design, and the Supply chain team. This role will support of all access capital programs by defining requirements, and opportunities for cost savings. This position will be based in Markham reporting into the Network Build Organization.

  • Engage with the Network Design, Build, and Program team to determine contractor resource needs per program/initiative
  • Develop contractor resource strategies in order to deliver on all program deliverables (Fiber architecture builds, FTTP, Fixed Wireless, etc.)
  • Execute and manage the supplier pre-qualification and vendor onboarding
  • Review, negotiate and amend contractual paperwork as required
  • Participate in contract negotiation calls with existing and prospective engineering and construction vendor partners
  • Procure and implement contracts with all required vendors for regional deployment teams
  • Manage and improve on the existing contractor resourcing process
  • Assist with program recovery/mitigation plans at a contracts level as required
  • Analyze, recommend, and roll out cost improvements to the regions through new service contracts
  • Drive unit cost improvements through new service contracts
  • Leverage best practices from all stakeholder groups and integrate into the process
  • Performs other duties and assist with special projects as assigned

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience in telecommunications, engineering and/or telecom networks construction
  • Strong understanding of designing & building PON/HFC networks and systems. Well versed in National construction standards, wireless telecommunications construction, and outside plant fiber construction.
  • Post-Secondary education in telecommunications, civil engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with writing contracts
  • Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft applications
  • Excellent presentation & communications skills, with experience presenting to stakeholders
