Marketing & Digital - UX/UI Designer I

Calgary, AB
As a UX/UI Designer you will be responsible for supporting an agile digital product team on a variety of tasks and projects including website optimizations, campaign initiatives, feature functionality, customer experience enhancements and other production and sustainment-related tasks. Specific accountabilities include:
• Digital design practice
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, internal teams and external agencies to ensure UX/UI design solutions deliver on business objectives
• Ensure a high level of execution consistent with design and brand standards
• Maintain knowledge of latest design and user experience best practices
• Establish, document and enforce design standards, patterns and process
• Effectively advocate for the importance of UX/UI to achieve business objectives
• Define the operational needs within UX/UI and advocate for solutions and resolution
UX and UI research
• Collect/source and analyse data to inform design solutions and provide data-informed insights to improve existing experiences
• Advocate research findings through reports and presentations
• Responsible for leading UX/UI design on projects and initiatives
• Strategy, scope and effort level definition
• Interpret creative briefs and independently translate them into UX/UI design concepts
• Communicate design concepts and rationale to the project team and business stakeholders
• Develop design artifacts to support project delivery
• Provide support and sustainment for all digital properties
Your skills/experience
• Degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent experience, with portfolio
• Cumulative 3-5 years design experience with 2-3 years in a digital environment
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and working knowledge of current technology, equipment and software
• Excellent organizational skills with specific attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent time management skills, able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously with the capability to evaluate and assess priorities to create focus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – a team player
• Proven ability to work with and respond positively to constructive criticism
• Ability to work autonomously within an agile environment as part of a larger team, capable of self-directing and taking the initiative to drive towards outcomes
