Senior Network Designer Messaging

•       Engineer and integrate new Messaging Engineering platforms to support new services, products and applications.
•       Assess technical requirements and provide high level engineering costs for the implementation and deployment of new services and platforms.
•       Liaise with platform and service vendors, and Rogers technical and product teams. Provide input for technical solutions related to the deployment of new services, and/or resolution for technical issues related to engineering design.
•       Generate technical engineering documentation i.e. Implementation Specification Documents, Test Plans, Work orders and Method of Procedures (MoP) which facilitates service testing and platform integration.
•       This role will be responsible for any subset of the following platforms/services: MMSC, SMSC, VoiceMail, AntiSpam, MTA, Intelligent Network (IN/SCP), or Intelligent Proxy Platforms
•       Work in a tight, highly motivated, team environment taking on leadership responsibility when necessary.
•       Keep abreast of the industry developments specifically in respect to data services deployments and advancements. Initiate and manage cost saving projects, track monthly saving progress to ensure the set objectives are met.
•       Analyze  network configurations to identify network optimization opportunities, plan the network redesigns.
•       Support other Engineering  teams to quantify the project cost and service cost.
•       Generate one-off cost report upon request to support the management and the business.
•       Be highly adaptive to work on   various technical and business tasks assigned by the manager.

Qualifications & Experience preferred:
•       5+ yeears of similar experience
•       Degree or equivalent in engineering/ computer science discipline.
•       In depth knowledge of GSM/GPRS/HSPA/LTE call flows.
•       In depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, Unix, Linux, Web based services, WAP, Veritas, Oracle, LDAP and Diameter 
•       Good knowledge of network platforms; routers, switches, load-balancers   as integral part of the server farms and service LANs
•       Good knowledge of Wireless Data Networks and IP Topologies, IMS, ENUM and FMC.
•       Good knowledge of various internet Topologies and networks and technologies including J2ME, XML and Wireless Web based services and solutions.
•       Excellent communication, inter-personal skills, teamwork and collaborative abilities.
•       Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.
•       Ability to work with minimal supervision.
•       Core Competencies include Innovative and Creative thinking, Problem Solving abilities, adaptability and Initiative.
•       Proven ability to multi-task and organize in order to meet tight deadlines.
