Test Lead III

Job Description: Summary
The Test Lead will provide leadership and direction to BMA testing activities based on a solid understanding of our business needs and technical solutions.


• Manage release testing activities, issues, and critical items that impact test scope and quality
• Manage risk and quality coverage to ensure the delivery of predictable releases
• Ensure adherence to testing practices and processes while participating in the maturity of our delivery model
• In collaboration with other Test Leads, Tech Leads and Managers, ensure appropriate test coverage, and quality of work across BMA
• Both derive and present quality metrics to leadership teams and stakeholders. Reporting includes but is not limited to dashboards, status updates, retrospectives, and results summaries
• Provide direction for testing to enhance and improve how Shaw interprets both progression and regression testing
• Provide hands-on support to your team including resolving technical and non-technical issues. This includes vendor and offshore team members.
• Provide coaching and development to members of the team as appropriate
• Other duties as required

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
• 8+ years in IT Software Testing including experience leading teams and interacting with multiple stakeholders
• Experience with a large scale and complex system implementation, system replacement or data migration/conversion project
• Strong quantitative and qualitative assessment skills and ability to constructively challenge ideas and assumptions
• Experience with setting up and managing formal processes to ensure requirements are met
• Experience working with teams to identify business value and priority
• Confidence providing feedback and coaching to team members outside your reports
• Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are a must; familiar with various software methodologies and the ability to guide multiple test initiatives
• Work within defined schedules and timelines, and willing to be hands on when needed
• Proven ability to identify process gaps and initiate improvement opportunities
• Superior organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
• Previous experience coordinating testing and being a liaison with multiple vendors and different tools would be an asset
