Payroll Specialist/ Analyst 3-15754

You’ll also team up with friendly, supportive internal partners, including P&C leadership and business partner members and our key business stakeholders, and external stakeholders, such as government agencies, to shape the future of work.

• Execution and/or support of our biweekly, monthly, quarterly and annual payroll accounting functions
o ensure all inputs and outputs of your payroll financials are compliant with client, legislated or negotiated requirements
o meet both internal and external auditor’s Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements
o ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation and company policies
o accountable for the accuracy, limit in use and protection of team member data within your role
o leverage and enhance our use of the SAP payroll and financial systems to support your deliverables
o accountable for payroll postings, GL accounts, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, employee receivables, liability and expenses, banking accounts and all payroll government remittances
o administration of government programs to support COVID-19 employer responsibilities
• Operate as a Trusted Advisor and Subject Matter Expert in Payroll Accounting:
o provide guidance to the P&C Operations leadership team related to facilitation of escalated issues through problem recognition, research, and analysis, leveraging SAP as required
o collaborate with business partners to support various programs to our team members, including recommendations to gain direction, alignment, and final approval of your leader
o build strong relationships across Canada within the P&C community and represent P&C Operations at various meetings, acting as a technical payroll accounting resource
• Provide critical business insights and thought leadership
o Identify, develop and implement radical simplification and everyday innovation as part of our everyday culture
o maintain our compliance adherence brand both internally with audit and externally with government and audit agencies to prevent penalties for non-compliance
o provide expertise in payroll and HR business processes and related system requirements for HR and payroll financial operations
o ownership of wage type definition and payroll schedules
o implement payroll accounting best practices for pay policies to improve processes, deselect non-value-add work to ultimately increase efficiency and time to focus on our customer

Must to have skills: 
1. Expert experience using the different functions on SAP , esp. the HR/ Payroll modules.
2. Strong Excel Skills/ Payroll Accountant
3. Able to manage numerous competing priorities and commitments with extremely high attention to detail in an organized manner (ideally from a large organization)

Nice to have skills:
1. CHRP designation
2. Bilingual in English and French
3. Experience working with Canada Revenue Agency and Revenue Québec
