4 month contract position in Toronto


The Financial Analyst is a key point of contact for expertise in payroll accounting functions, supporting HR business processes and payroll financial operations.


• Execute and/or support our biweekly, monthly, quarterly and annual payroll accounting functions
• Operate as a Trusted Advisor and Subject Matter Expert in Payroll Accounting
• Provide critical business insights and thought leadership
• Develop effective business relationships with peers, senior finance team, and Dir level of client team; may have VP/ELT exp

Required Knowledge:
• Deep payroll accounting experience
• Expert experience using the different functions of Excel and SAP HR and Finance modules

Required Skills & Abilities:
• Recognized for managing numerous competing priorities and commitments with extremely high attention to detail in an organized manner
• Proven track record in driving change through fair process, identifying and delivering process
• Solid communicator and excellent collaborator who can influence and build strong relationships
• A track record of executing and delivering on agreed upon objectives
• Experience working with Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec

Required Professional Designation/Certification:
• Completion of a payroll accounting/accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CMA, CA) or equivalent
• Bilingual in English and French, both written and oral, an asset

Required Experience:
• 10+ years of payroll accounting, payroll systems and compliance, continuous

• CHRP designation
• Working in a unionized environment

Project details: Support finance payroll operational functions and projects, including large highly complex legislated payroll related programs
Team size and environment: Small team, working both independently and collaboratively on big initiatives
Additional comments: Possibility of transitioning to permanent, ideally looking for candidates from larger companies
