CMDB Analyst

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Lead based out of our Calgary office. Reporting to the Team Lead, Service Management Infrastructure, this role will be instrumental in the implementation and development of client's Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

A typical day
  • Provide focus and leadership to the Configuration Management space
  • Enact system audit practices and conduct audits to ensure data integrity
  • Reconcile the CMDB when exceptions are noted between CMDB, discovery, and other authoritative data sources that feed the CMDB
  • Develop and enforce CMDB data governance policies
  • Act as a stakeholder supporting key CMDB tasks
  • Recommend robust configuration management procedures and standards for using the ServiceNow CMDB
  • Liaise and work with internal and external partners whenever necessary
  • Keeps up to date on technology in the industry
  • Implement and maintain a scalable and performant CMDB within the ServiceNow environment
  • Accountable for training and mentoring the organization in utilizing the CMDB
  • Act as a data steward and custodian supporting the CMDB voice of authority
Your Skills/experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary education in Computer Science
  • 3 or more years of industry experience with CMDB systems, a focus in ServiceNow is preferred.
  • Experience in both hardware and software asset and configuration management as well as knowledge of IT Service Management processes
  • Experience using agile and/or lean methodologies
  • Strong understanding of database technologies and normalization best practices
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work on critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical problem solving, and technical writing skills are required
  • Highly motivated, energetic, reliable, and goal oriented
