Director of Technology Strategy (Cloud Engineering - SDN/NFV) (210220-1)

Our Client is looking for a Director of Technology Strategy (Cloud Engineering - SDN/NFV) with the following skills and responsibilities.

 • Develop and evolve network architectures to support  transformation to a cloud based, software driven telecommunications provider
• Maintain a view and opinion on industry trends, standards evolution and architectural best practices for the clients NFV/SDN program
• Help drive the evolution of our teams towards a DevOps and Agile culture and mode of working
• Establish, monitor and evolve program level key performance indicators
• Evolve team organizational structure, recruit and mentor a high performing NFV engineering DevOps team
• Drive and lead the adoption of test driven development (TDD) methodologies as well as architectural capabilities for an automation first approach to the critical clients network functions

• Confident with your knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodology
• Respected for your experience and understanding of key wireline/IP networking protocols, such as: BGP, OSFP, vxLAN, EVPN, NETCONF & P4 • With an understanding of network layered architecture (data, control, management)
• Regarded for your knowledge of MPLS, Segment Routing, BGP-LS, PCEP • Commended for your track record of deploying world class, carrier grade network architectures and solutions
• Passionate about exciting change and influencing others to adopt new technology concepts and methods of working, acting as an evangelist for DevOps and Agile
• Skilled with requirement gathering including business, functional, technical requirements and converting them to functional/technical and sequence diagrams for software design purposes • Adept in with your Linux environment and Linux networking knowledge
• With deep insight of virtualization techniques and technologies in networks, servers, and software stacks
• Known for your knowledge of SDN (architecture and technology) and popular SDN controllers such as ODL, ONOS, etc
• With your knowledge of service and network modeling tools and protocols such as YANG/Netconf, TOSCA, HEAT • With familiarity with containerization and related tools such as Kubernetes/Openshift, Docker/Docker Swarm
• Skilled in your knowledge of automated software on boarding process and service assurance • Confident in your knowledge of CI/CD Devops best practices and the tools used to implement them such Git/Gitlab, Jenkins, Jira)
•Respected for your knowledge of orchestration concepts (design and onboarding) for PNFs and VNFs and capability of using orchestration tools
• With your experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• With a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline

Great-to-haves
• Understanding of recent intent-oriented network protocols such as Segment Routing • Experience in working with standard bodies such as MEF, IETF, TM-Forum
• Experience developing, deploying and operating software in a cloud-based environment
• Experience deploying and operating applications on an OpenStack private cloud environment
• Previous experience designing, implementing and operating Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) applications in a carrier grade environment
• Exposure to and familiarity with 3GPP based wireless network solutions (3G, 4G LTE at a minimum, bonus points for 5G experience)
• Familiarity with the concept of Autonomic Networking and Self-X (Self-healing, self-configuring, self-optimizing, etc)
• Master of Engineering degree and/or MBA
