Technical Implementation Specialist - 102185

Position Objective
You are a task-focused, detail-oriented, team player that will thrive under the pressure of our fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Manager of Customer Implementation, you will be accountable for technical design, provisioning and support of complex Enterprise and Wholesale customer networks. You will be required to install and activate 3rd party services from our partners, configure network elements and issue internal work through our various portals and mediated access systems, all in accordance with our technical standards, to ensure quality and timely delivery of the requested solutions. Responsive to the needs of our customers, you will take full ownership of your orders, work with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and act proactively as required, to ensure our quality measures and aggressive implementation timelines are met by continually striving to meet and exceed our SLAs.

Position Responsibilities

  • Work cross functionally and directly with customers to ensure customer orders are provisioned and activated on their due date
  • Work cross functionally and directly with NCR (3rd party vendor) to ensure customer orders are provisioned and activated in a timely matter
  • Work cross functionally and directly with customers to troubleshoot and support services post implementation
  • Work cross functionally and directly with 3rd party to troubleshoot and support services post implementation
  • Design, configure and provision Internet, MPLS, and Carrier Ethernet network services
  • Sectionalize and isolate network and access faults in a timely manner
    Test Ethernet, Fiber, TDM, DSL, LTE, and Cable access with technicians and Telco/MSO providers
  • Participating in the queue to receive calls from NCR to build MPLS service, router configuration, test and turn up
  • Attention to detail required to ensure records and database integrity are maintained
  • Manage escalations and resolve jeopardy requests as required
  • Additional tasks/accountabilities man be assigned as required

Position Requirements
  • Strong technical, communication (written, verbal) and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, be responsive, and deliver on tight deadlines
  • Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting a wide variety of medium and enterprise grade Cisco, Alcatel, or Juniper devices
  • Experience in deploying or supporting WAN technologies (Ethernet, TDM, Wireless, etc.)
  • Experience managing customers directly
  • Working knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and traffic-engineering principles
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP (IPv4 & IPv6), MPLS protocols, QoS, Multicast, Unicast, Broadcast, Multi-VRF, Hub-spoke and Mesh.
  • Working knowledge of iMPLS, VPLS, EVPL and EPL
  • Working knowledge of different Wireline and Wireless access types such Fiber, Cable (DOCISIS and EoC), GPON, LTE and Satellite
  • Working knowledge of business or consumer internet deployments
  • Flexibility to work evenings and week-ends when required to support customer activations
  • Experience with OTDR, RFC2544, and Y.1564 testing an asset
  • Knowledge of SIP, Video, or Transport (CWDM, Sonet) technologies an asset
  • Knowledge of Provisioning and Ordering Tools/systems (Nokia Service Portal, NRM, SGI, EWP, HPNA, SPITT, NGPP, Tunnel Concentrator, SubDB)
Education Requirements
  • Post-Secondary education or 3+ years of equivalent work experience required
  • Active Technical Certification an asset
  • Cisco certifications in CCNA or higher preferred
Alcatel certifications in NRS1 or higher preferred

This resource will be joining the Service Delivery team for the Provisioning project. They will be working onsite from the Brampton office for typical business hours. 

They will be responsible for liaising with 3rd Party vendors and building out the service from the Network side. Looking for someone with the technical must-haves as listed in the job description. They will need to be experienced with troubleshooting and building out telecommunications networks.
